Network Support Engineer – L1

Role Summary

As a Level 1 NOC Engineer, you will be the first line of defense for monitoring, identifying, and reporting network issues affecting the Cable Landing Station. You will operate in a shift-based model to ensure continuous network visibility and timely incident response

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor IP Core network health via NMS/NOC dashboards and alerting systems.
  • Acknowledge, document, and respond to alarms, anomalies, and customer-reported incidents.
  • Perform basic diagnostics, log collection, and first-level troubleshooting.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2 support with detailed incident context.
  • Carry out routine maintenance checks, scheduled log reviews, and inventory verifications.
  • Maintain incident, problem, and change records in ticketing systems.
  • Ensure seamless shift handovers and report all in-progress issues to incoming staff.

Job Specifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in NOC or technical support roles (IP/ISP/Telecom preferred).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Familiarity with tools like Zabbix, SolarWinds, PRTG, or equivalent NMS systems.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and escalate efficiently.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and multitasking skills.
